THE STORY:

One Health Organization wrote -

Annual veterinary care costs create tough choices for low-income families. Having to choose between providing care for their pet, or taking their pet to an animal rescue, shelter, or foster agency is stressful. One Health Organization programs help to keep people and pets healthy at home. One Health Family Members are able to provide a forever home and properly care for their pets.

One Health Organization currently serves people and their pets living in Cleveland neighborhoods, Cuyahoga County, and nearby areas. Low-income seniors and the disabled with a household income of 200% or less than the Federal poverty level are eligible for membership. The $40 annual membership payment entitles members to vouchers worth up to $250 Low-income households under 75% of the federal poverty level are also eligible for donor  paid membership.

One Health Organization also administers the Project Noah Fund. The Project Noah Fund developed by Dr. Brian Forsgren of Gateway Animal Clinic was established to help cover the type of expenses created by ongoing medical conditions for pets. Extraordinary expenses add up quickly. A recent AP-Petside.com poll reported that families whose pets faced serious illness spent more than $1,000 on average. For One Health Family members this can be 5-10 percent of their annual budget. A donation to the Project Noah Fund saves animals.

This is great opportunity to help One Health Organization increase capacity and win the $50,000.00 First Prize. You can help. First, share news of the upcoming event by posting on social media or by emailing about the event to your network of contacts.

If you have the time and desire to volunteer, One Health Organization needs volunteers to help with spreading the word. There are opportunities to make phone calls, send emails, make social media posts, and organize events and activities related to the challenges. Each volunteer commitment is for one week or less. This is a great opportunities to volunteer together. Contact OHFM@onehealth.org for information on how to volunteer.

Please give generously to help One Health Organization win the Saving Pets Challenge today. Thank you.
