Our daughter, was hospitalized in June 2015, at OHSU in Portland, Oregon. She was hospitalized for anorexia. She began this road with the intention of eating healthy and exercising. That's great right? That's what we thought. But soon we began to see that she was very thin. What happens is an anorexics brain becomes sick. The person with anorexia believes that they are not skinny enough. They cannot see the bones sticking out of their body. They think they are fat. They can't eat any food because it's off limits. If they have to eat food it HAS TO BE THE HEALTHIEST FOOD and not very much of it. Some believe that they don't deserve food. I began to realize that when she said she had lunch. She didn't. She refused almost all food. She would eat a corn tortilla with spinach and pepperonicinis. For dinner. And nothing for lunch. And nothing for breakfast. This was all before her first stay at the hospital in 2014. She was hospitalized at 86 lbs in Oct of 2014. Things went okay but then in June 2016 she was hospitalized again ... I was constantly a cop, watching out for her. The thing is if somebody is watching who cares, if the anorexia wants to act up, the anorexia starts getting sneaky. So my job was certainly stressful. Anyway it turned out that our insurance didn't cover mental health. And that's how we have an 11,000 bill to pay. I am on a plan and I'm trying to pay 344.00 each month but if anyone can possibly help me I would be SO grateful!
