BENEFITING: Children's Heart Foundation
EVENT DATE: Apr 19, 2014
Oliver Henry Wright was born with a congenital heart defect known as tetrology of fallot. While his heart condition impacted his life, he did not let it prevent him from living his life to the fullest. He passed away in February as a result of complications from heart surgery at the age of 28. In honor of Oliver, Jackie Clowers (marathon) and Carli Clowers (mini-marathon) are running in the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon in April. We are raising money to give to the Children's Heart Foundation which raises money for research into prevention and treatment of congenital heart defects. Oliver donated his organs to others and gave his heart to be studied for research.
initially I placed a $500 goal but we have gotten over half way in just a couple days. I'm upping the goal to $1,000 with the hopes I will have to up it again.
