Okipe is a cooperative effort of many individuals and organizations working together to bring a hope for the future to orphan children in Haiti through loving care, food, clean water, shelter, clothing, and physical / spiritual / vocational training.
Okipe is a Creole word meaning "to look after." The co-op of Okipe looks after an orphanage located on the island of La Gonave off the coast of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. There are currently over 70 children living together under the care of Mme Soliette. The goal is to help raise enough funds to build an orphan village where the children could live in smaller groups and receive more one-on-one care.
All donations made to The Vineyard Christian Fellowship of the San Roman Valley will go to Okipe.
If you want to know how I'm connected to the orphanage click my name next to Project Organizer. For more infomation about Okipe go to www.okipe.org. or follow them on facebook.
