OLIVE CREST wrote -
Olive Crest was founded in 1973 by Dr. Donald and Lois Verluer who took in four teenage girls, and opened their first for Children in Orange County, California. Since then, Olive Crest has become a leading organization for adoption, preventing child abuse and advocating for at risk children and families. The heart of what we do is to create strong families and keeping kids safe…“One Life at a Time.”®” Since its inception, Olive Crest has transformed the lives of over 70,000 abused, neglected, and at-risk children and their families. Historically, Olive Crest has accomplished its mission by providing Group Home Care, Foster Care, Adoption, Educational Services, and Clinic-based mental health services to families referred by County agencies. While Olive Crest will continue to provide these services, meeting the changing needs of the families of Los Angeles now requires a more proactive approach.
Established, proven, and respected, Olive Crest has proudly served the greater Los Angeles area since 1988. Our office locations in Bellflower, Glendale, and Long Beach provide a broad spectrum of care for children and families throughout Los Angeles County.
As part of our efforts in creating awareness about child abuse and raising funds for the children and families we serve, Olive Crest has form a team of runners consisting of staff members, and supporters who believe that every child deserves a childhood and an opportunity to thrive as leaders of our community. On Febraury 13, 2016, our Olive Crest "Run for the Children" Team will run it's first ever LA Marathon's BIG 5k Run at Dodger Stadium.
From now until Midnight February 13, 2016 we will taking donations of any amount to help us meet our goal of $10,000. All proceeds will go towards the amazing work of Olive Crest to help at-risk children and families.
Donate now and help us end child abuse, neglect, and abandonment once and for all.
