One Mile at a Time
Organized by: Cat Brewster
May 13, 2016
$20=1 mile Cat and Isabella became friends in Key West, Fl. The life of military kids can be a struggle and finding friends is key. Isabella and my daughter hit it off instantly. Now Cat wants to give Isabella a gift. Isabella is Autistic and has a very hard time with so many aspects of life and feels like she is in a cage most of the time. She has been told that a service dog would greatly benefit her. The bond between a person and a real service dog is epic. However, this family recently retired from the US Military and are unable to afford the cost of a service animal. The training alone is a huge amount. So My daughter wants to walk 1 mile for every $20 raised. We have a beautiful walking path that she will be utilizing with our own dogs to get healthy for a great cause.
Excerpt from Isabella: "I had to go back on home bound last week. I was only able to go back to school for four months. I don't understand why this keeps happening to me!!!! I just don't feel normal!!!!!! All I want are friends that like me and are not fake and to be like other kids my age that can go to school and not have meltdowns like me! I'm tired of crying!
You can see our Friend Isabella and her Facebook page to see her struggle. https://www.facebook.com/Luv4LaLa/?fref=ts She is such a beautiful person and has a bright amazing personality. We would love for her to be able to go farther in life and we believe a service dog will help her shine! Please take a moment to read about Isabella and help us get her a service dog.
