One Tough 3 Month Old - Nasir Rey Basurto
Organized by: BlueEarth Deconstruction
The BlueEarth Family is rallying around one of our youngest members - Nasir Rey Basurto. Nasir was rushed to the hospital Thursday, March 17 with abdominal swelling and trouble eating. Since then, he's been inundated with tests, surgeries, and procedures as the doctors work to determine the cause of young Nasir's illness and bring him back to 100% health. Every time one issue is solved, another seems to pop up. At this time, his liver is not functioning properly, and his team of doctors are trying to find the right course of treatment. Through it all, his family has been by his side watching as their baby undergoes one treatment after another.
Nasir was born just 3 months ago on January 2, 2016, and had been fully healthy until these issues arose, so his family was caught completely off guard by this emergency. Nasir's father, Mauricio "Moe" Basurto, is the heart of the BlueEarth Crew. Moe brings passion and joy to everything he does, and always has a smile on his face. We're devastated to see him and his family having to endure such a challenging time with their infant son. In addition to Nasir, they also have 2 other children - Nasir's twin brother, Matthew, and their older sister, Sariyah.
We're raising money to help the Basurto family with the rising medical costs and ongoing financial support as Nasir continues to battle back to full health. We are hopeful Nasir will have a full recovery, and our thoughts and prayers are with him daily. Please help us support young Nasir and the Basutro family with a contribution of any amount you can. All funds will go directly to the family to help with medical and family care expenses. We also ask that you keep young Nasir in your prayers.
For every $5,000 we raise, members of the BlueEarth family pledge to complete an extreme, endurance, or action sport event. In anticipation of reaching our first $5,000 benchmark, we've started a team to run the Chicago Tough Mudder in May to honor Nasir's toughness through this ordeal. We will update everyone involved as we progress through our fundraising goals, and welcome any suggestions or requests for future benchmark events from the supportive community gathering around the Basurto family at this time.
