I'm Joel Halpine. Though it isnt my primary job, I have taught Les Mills fitness classes for about 13 years in Lincoln, NE (USA). As Les Mills instructor of fitness programs, I believe that these classes are a remarkable way to do good for mind and body. Lately I was dismayed to learn that a few of the regular participants in my classes have been absent because cancer has touched their lives: They are either being treated for cancer or are aiding a spouse undergoing treatment. In either case, the disease has affected their mental and physical well-being. I was incented to do more than send a card to express my sympathy. The programs I teach are the catalyst for this fundraiser.
Please join me in reaching my fundraising goal of $5000 by January 14, 2017.
The January 14, 2017, date is significant because it coincides with when Les Mills will launch the 100th release of BodyPump, their most popular program. Les Mills is the largest distributor of choreographed music-to-fitness programs internationally, with 17,500 partners in 100 countries. Every fitness center carrying the Les Mills products will participate in this release. And I am willing to bet that everyone in every one of those locations can relate to this negative impact cancer has on their members and their lives.
Call to instructors:
• Please share this fundraiser with your class participants.
• Outside of the US? If you like the cause but want to donate to a local cancer society, contact your local Cancer Society, and create a fundraiser for your locale (but keep track of the amount raised, because that would be good to know).
Let us come together as one tribe in one world. In this way, we can make a little difference.
My personal commitment—and challenge to you:
If we raise $5,000 by January 14, 2017, I have asked a friend to shave my head. If you care to join the challenge, you can shave your head too! Share a before and after pic, but let's hold that off until the January 14 Launch. Please join me in reaching my goal of raising $5000 for cancer research.
