This past year I lost my father. He was a man who dedicated his life to his family. As kids, he would take us on family excursions he called "Magical Mystery Tours" . I have decided to bring him along on my personal "Magical Mystery Tour" by running my first marathon in his honor.
Geoffrey Curran Rosamond was also a very cerebral person who could connect with all walks of life. This was due to all he learned on his never ending journey for wisdom and knowledge. A simple conversation would delve into a deep and insightful conversation about whatever it was that had been on your mind.
In March he suffered cardiac arrest which led to two strokes. It was demoralizng to watch his physical body improve but not his mind. His brain was unable to recover as it had been stuck in a vegetative state. And while our family is in eternal gratitude to all the medical professionals who helped while he was in a coma, we also became painfullly aware as to all the uncertainty surrounding brain recovery.
The heart and brain are the most important tools we have. That is why I am fundraising for the American Heart Association. Their entire mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Please consider a small contribution to this wonderful organization and together we can help better protect and cure those we love!!!
