Every day in South Africa another baby is abandoned. The Johannesburg and Soweto morticians statistics reveal that each month the bodies of 200 newborn babies and dumped. Work with the Door of Hope ministry to rescue and care for abandoned newborn babies in Soweto township. Share hope and truth with those who have none.
Every month in Johannesburg and Soweto tje bodies of more than 200 babies are abandoned and dumped. Poverty and rape are the main factors causing young mothers to abandon their babies. Poverty is one of the main factors causing young mothers to abandon their babies. They are simply unable to provide. Rape is another huge factor. They are unwilling to keep a baby that is unwanted. Their bodies are sometimes discovered in the trash dumps or in the river. The Door of Hope ministry provides hope to mothers who would abandon or are unable to provide for these newborn babies. The ministry center provides a small door in the wall surrounding the house where mothers can leave their babies. The ‘hole in the wall’ is big enough for an infant, and is wired with a sensor to alert the workers when a new baby has arrived. Abandoned babies are rescued and their needs are met until they are adopted. Ministry workers care for the daily needs of the babies and work in the community to provide education that can help change lives. This project has many phases, including the building of the actual wall in Soweto with receiving door where unwanted babies can be left.
