A little bit about the campiagn its self is listed below.
"The Texas Diaper Bank is pleased to announce the first annual "One Million Diapers for Babies" campaign to be held during the month of October, 2015. This offers the entire community the opportunity to collect diapers and funds in support of the over 100,000 children living in poverty in Bexar County. The Texas Diaper Bank created the "One Million Diapers for Babies" campaign in order to raise awareness of the diaper need in our community, as well as, collect this basic need item which families struggle to afford. The organization will distribute 1 million diapers in 2015. However, in order to serve more babies in Bexar County and the surrounding communities, we need more diapers. Diapers are one of the most basic needs for a family with a baby. On average families spend up to $100 a month on diapers for each of their babies. For a low-income family, the cost for diapers can cause even more of a financial strain on their already limited budget. Every day, the Texas Diaper Bank hears stories of families leaving their babies in a dirty diaper for days because they don’t have enough diapers and can’t afford to purchase them. These families face a difficult choice of having to provide diapers for their babies or spend on other basic needs like food, rent or utilities. In some cases families cannot afford the diapers required by daycares in order for them to go to work or school, adding another barrier. These are just some of the reasons why diapers are such an essential item to a baby’s health and well being, as well as a family’s self—sufficiency. How can you help? We invite you to participate in the "One Million Diapers for Babies" campaign by supporting these wonderful contestants who are competing to become the first ever "Texas Diaper Bank King or Queen" . Your participation not only supports them in the endeavor, but also helps assure that babies born into poverty, have this basic need met. Please join us in this campaign by donating in support of these wonderful community leaders. If you have any questions, please contact either myself or one of our campaign leaders." http://www.texasdiaperbankpageant.org/
