BENEFITING: Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi
Diabetes is a very wicked disease. If not managed properly it can cause many, many health problems. I know this first-hand because I have family members that have battled the disease......my momma, my husband, and my brother have fought it for many years. My brother recently underwent a below the knee amputation - which has been a drastic change in his life. It saddens me to say that just last month my son was also diagnosed. So, you see I have a vested interest in making sure we do everything we can to help educate and support those who are living with diabetes. The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi provides support to those living with diabetes by offering educational programs to patients and health care providers. They provide life saving medical supplies and medicines to needy Mississippians. They even help to fund diabetes alert dogs for children. The Foundation does a wonderful job of helping many Mississippians to live “normaI” lives. That is why I am asking that YOU help me to raise money to help their cause….so that they can continue helping those with diabetes. I will be walking in the Jackson Walk for Diabetes on Sunday, October 4th, and would love for you to join me. It will be held on the Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Campus - I-220, Watkins Drive Exit at 1401 Livingston Lane in Jackson, MS. The walk begins at 2:00 and a free lunch will follow. If you are not able to walk with me, would you please consider donating $10, $20 – whatever you can spare would be greatly appreciated. And every dollar raised stays in Mississippi!
