BENEFITING: New Door Ventures
EVENT DATE: May 31, 2016
New Door Ventures prepares disconnected youth in the Bay Area for work and life. Each young person receives job and life skills training, educational support and a paid job! Youth who come to New Door have been through hardships such as homelessness and have histories in the juvenile justice and foster care systems. With the right support, young people can achieve their potential and positively impact their communities!
Help us raise funds for one of the most treasured aspects of our program! The two week orientation is an important time for youth and New Door Staff. It provides youth with an introduction to our program and thirty hours of intensive pre-job training. Their days are spent building a resume, honing their interview skills and exploring careers. Throughout the month of May help us raise a minimum of $30,000 to cover the full amount of our 200 orientation stipends and bus passes for New Door youth!
During the Open Doors Campaign - gifts over $25 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Humanity United. Take advantage of this exciting opportunity to have your generosity matched! “Both in the U.S. and around the world, there are forces that make youth vulnerable and jeopardize the positive impact that they can have in their communities. Humanity United is proud to support the Open Doors Campaign that seeks to unleash the potential of youth around the Bay Area.” –Randy Newcomb, Humanity United President & CEO
