UPWARD BOUND IS DOING SOMETHING THAT IS COMPLETELY NEW, EXCITING, ENGAGING AND MEETING THE NEEDS OF THE FUTURE...
Upward Bound just purchased a new facility that will provide opportunities for more year-round services, day camps for our medically fragile and aging, short and long term respite camps, sibling and family camps, transitional and skill-building camps, and spiritual growth retreats.
The new space will also serve well for conferences, transitional residential programs, and social experiences for people w/disabilities like dances, BBQ’s, music and art events, literary retreats, and dinner theater performances.
UBC also hopes to make available the Gates Camp-US for Special Olympics networking and vocational placements for DD participants.
Programs beginning this fall/winter will be enrolling persons with developmental challenges ages 21-40, currently not in a place of gainful employment and not living successfully in an independent living situation. The two twenty-one day sessions will provide a fun way to practice independent living skills, explore vocational interests and fine arts, interact with others and build confidence in areas of personal safety and health.
