How can so many people be so hungry, when we have so much? Thanksgiving got me thinking... There are some children who will never know the feeling of a full stomach! God has been telling me lately (via His Word, and just convictions in general) that we can make a difference in this world! And Susie magazine's 'Open Her World Christmas Challenge' has allowed me the opportunity to serve and help several teen girl living in Saintilus, a village in Haiti. This challenge only goes through December 31, 2011!
I just ask that if you feel moved to give, then please do so! Because, anything helps! In Haiti, the people live on very little... So, if all you can afford right now is a dollar, thats ok!
Deuteronomy 16:17 states, "Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the LORD your God has blessed you. "
But don't feel pressured to give either, because Paul says in 2 Corinthians 9:7
'Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.'
Also, with the opportunity to help girls my own age, I am given the chance to go visit those girls and serve in the community. It has been a dream of mine to visit this beautiful country, share the Gospel, see lives changed by God's hand directly, and feel my own heart soften towards God's love.
Thank you for at least looking at this website! If you decide not to give, or simply cannot, then I ask that you pray for this fundraiser, the girls that the money is going to help, and that the Lord will bless those who have donated.
It would be much appreciated too, if you would take a minute to share this with friends and family!
Thanks a million!
Love in Christ,
