BENEFITING: Stop Drop and Play Childrens Museum Corporation
Laugh. Learn. Support. Stop Drop and Play Children's Museum. It takes a village to raise a child. Many believe in this quote but most find it challenging to create that village. Montgomery County, MD is a rapidly growing area. Upper Montgomery County was once considered rural. Now, we have families with young children moving to these communities as housing developments continue to be built. As a parent with young children, where do you find your village? How do you connect with other families with young children? Where do you take your children to socialize and experience educational opportunities? Is there a way to learn about resources, recommendations, or referrals that may benefit your child and family? Stop Drop and Play Children's Museum is the solution. At Stop Drop and Play, we provide a safe, interactive play experience for young children to learn, socialize, and have fun. With our thoughtfully developed play space, parents have opportunities to socialize and connect with others within their community. Additionally, we host programs and events that are informational and beneficial to families with young children. We have identified a physical location for the Museum in Damascus, MD. To open our doors, we need to raise $100,000. This fundraising goal will allow Stop Drop and Play to secure our location, complete necessary renovations, and purchase educational exhibits. Once we open our doors, we have a unique business model to support all families with children. We will have day, evening, and weekend open play time opportunities, informative and supportive groups for families with specific needs, and provide volunteerism opportunities for older children in our community. Our mission is to provide educational and interactive play opportunities for young children while helping families within Montgomery County to build their village. It takes a village to raise a child. Please consider being a part of our village.
