Hurricane Matthew is less than 24 hours from delivering a potentially catastrophic strike on Haiti, and will also strike parts of Jamaica, eastern Cuba and the Bahamas before flirting with parts of the U.S. East Coast into this weekend. It has already claimed multiple lives before even making landfall.
Operation USA has previously worked in Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba. In Haiti, where conditions are still vulnerable since a massive earthquake devastated the region in 2010, we continue to support Ecole Nationale JM Henriquez, a school rebuilt in partnership with Honeywell as part of earthquake recovery efforts. There, in Jacmel, students, staff and partners are at risk for new damage and devastation due to the oncoming hurricane. OpUSA will maintain close contact with the community of Jacmel and partners in all areas affected by Hurricane Matthew in order to expedite the recovery process once the storm makes landfall and the full extent of damage is known.
Your donations directly support relief and recovery efforts for children and families impacted by Hurricane Matthew. Thank you for your support.
