BENEFITING: Operation Access
ORGANIZER: Operation Access
EVENT DATE: Jul 29, 2012
Mileage Tracker: 20
Apparently I have caught the "running bug" and have registered to do my FIRST half marathon, which is a total of 13 miles. In February '12, I participated in Kaiser Permanente 5k Fun Run with my friends and coworkers. I trained, ran at the event, had lots of fun, and now I can't stop looking for more running events. I know, I'm going crazy!
On July 29 I will be running the SF Marathon, but only the 2nd half (because it's easier!). At first I registered for this event with no intention of fundraising, but after much thought, I have decided to run for a charity. Why? Because I'm running it anyways, so might as well do it for a good cause, I want to do something different, and of course there are the prizes I get for raising money!
Reasons why I'm running for Operation Access:
1) It's not easy getting healthcare and it's not cheap either. Operation Access makes it possible for low-income, uninsured people to get needed surgical and specialty care, free of charge, through a medical volunteer network in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Sonoma counties.
2) For every $1 Operation Access receives, they arrange $13 in donated medical care for low-uninsured patients.
3) Your donations does help! How do I know? My husband volunteers for some of their cases. :)

Please help me raise money for Operation Access by donating $1 per mile or any other amount you can give.
