BENEFITING: One More Generation Co
EVENT DATE: Aug 10, 2015
I have decided to use my birthday as a vehicle to raise funds for Operation Game Change in Hanoi, which targets the trafficking of Ivory and Rhino Horn in Vietnam, where we aim to raise public awareness about the true cost of these two illicit commodities on African and Asian elephants and rhinos. I was asked to participate in this program a few months ago, they want me to begin by installing two large scale murals with the local youth, to empower and educate the community against the trade in Blood Ivory and Rhino Horn. Most of you have seen these two iconic works, respectively entitled, "Blood Horn" and "Blood Ivory" (as seen in the picture for this campaign), circling the web, and the time has come to scale these stories up, to make their narrative focus implicit part of Vietnam's cultural fabric. Let's move extant generations in Hanoi to look at the bigger picture, literally, and help them kick start a new conversation that ensures a wild future for us all. This is a collaborative undertaking between One More Generation, Freeland Foundation (Hanoi) and the US Embassy in Vietnam. Support is critical in making this vision possible. Instead of material gifts, I would rather my birthday "gifts" culminate in making a difference for elephants and rhinos, by altering public perception and consumptive habits in this region. Together we can change the world we live in, and make it wilder tomorrow, than it is today. Trumpet, grunt or roar with me, and help me Wild our World!
