NYC Marathon Finish Line report
November 07, 2017
BENEFITING: ORGANIZATION FOR AUTISM RESEARCH
ORGANIZER: ORGANIZATION FOR AUTISM RESEARCH
Hello family, friends, and friends of friends!
On Sunday, November 5th, among the 51,000 registered for the NY City Marathon, 32 will also be trying to raise over $100,000 for OAR, the Organization for Autism Research. I’m honored to be one of them, and am hereby asking for your tax-deductible support.
My 59-year-old ‘little’ brother Dale (pictured) is profoundly challenged with this developmental disability. Who knows what and where Dale would be today had he been correctly diagnosed and treated as a child. Today, thanks to groups like OAR, families challenged by Autism have access to some amazing research, education, support and hope.
Indeed, OAR is truly a mission driven nonprofit. In 2016, 87% of every dollar OAR spent was directed toward research, programs, and resources that benefit persons with autism, their families, and the people in the schools and communities who teach, guide, and protect them. And, recently 'Charity Navigator' once again awarded OAR its highest rating.
So, please don’t run away from this request, as I’m gangly enough to probably catch you, torn meniscus and all. Seriously though, in advance, THANK YOU for opening your heart and wallet for this very worthy cause!
PS: By all means, please pass this email on to any other friends, families, coworkers, etc., who might be inclined to pitch in.
