BENEFITING: ORGANIZATION FOR AUTISM RESEARCH
ORGANIZER: ORGANIZATION FOR AUTISM RESEARCH
I am dedicating my first Half Tough Mudder to those with autism because I have recently learned that my awesome nephew is being observed for autism and a friend of mine's beautiful daughter is autistic. Both of these young people are amazing humans with the potential to soar to great heights.
I'm raising money for OAR- Organization for Autism Research. This foundation focuses on the quality of life for those with autism. They use applied research to answer the questions of daily concerns; funding pilot studies on topics faced every day like education, communication, self-care and employment. *OAR has funded millions for new autism research; awarded thousands in scholarships to those with autism attending college or vocational-technical schools after high school; created Operation Autism: a support website for those in the military affected by autism; created Hire Autism: a job portal for adults with autism; and much more.*
I want to do my part to help my nephew, my friend's daughter and anyone else touched by autism...even if that means I need to push my physical limits and get a little muddy during an obstacle course race!
Knowledge is power. Knowledge is freedom. Help me raise money so this organization can continue to share the knowledge of their research with those affected by autism giving them the power and freedom to be the very best version of themselves!
