BENEFITING: ORGANIZATION FOR AUTISM RESEARCH
EVENT DATE: May 03, 2015
Welcome to the RUN FOR AUTISM team for the Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon!
By choosing to RUN FOR AUTISM, you will be supporting the Organization for Autism Research's mission to fund research and resources that help families today! Our 2014 Pittsburgh Marathon team raised funds that allowed OAR to invest in a summer intern team of two autism siblings. They worked hard to create three amazing new resources as part of our Autism Sibling Support Initiative. Learn more here! By partnering with OAR for the 2015 Pittsburgh Marathon events, you'll be helping OAR distribute these valuable resources, as well and fund new research studies and programming.
Here are some of the ways we'll use the funds you raise:
$25 provides 25 copies of a Life Journey through Autism resource guide sent to a community support group or military installation.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$2,000 supports the cost of sponsoring a speaker at a Conference-on-the-Road event.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$30,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
Our goal this year is to have 75 RUN FOR AUTISM rockstars representing OAR in the marathon weekend races, raising $45,000!
By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team and committing to fundraise, you will guarantee your entry to the race.
Fundraising requirements are $350 for the half marathon, $500 for the marathon, and $1000 for a marathon relay team of up to five runners. Click on the Charity Registration button at the top of the page to secure your entry today!
