BENEFITING: NORTH HILLS COMMUNITY OUTREACH INC
The plight of orphans in Jack extension compound in Lusaka Zambia is so great that most orphans have no access to education due to lack of school requisites such as uniforms, fees, books and food. As a result of this most children find themselves in the streets of Lusaka begging and indulging in all sorts of vices such as drug abuse, crime and other vices. Realising this therefore a community school to cater for some of these orphans and vulnerable children was started at the home of the head teacher in view of lack of a building as a school. Volunteer teachers are available but are faced with challenges such as lack of educational material, desks and chairs forcing children to sit on the floor. Most of these children attend classes hungry and without decent clothing. This state of affairs prompts the headteacher to share food with the chilren. In view of this we desire to raise funds to provide food for the children as well as desks, chairs and educational material.
