Sometimes we need an excuse for a good deed. I am dedicating my birthday to a greater cause this year. We tend to easily get consumed with our daily routine, our expectations, and our responsibilities. We overlook our blessings and often take them granted – coming home to our family at the end of a tiring day, our ability to put more than enough food on the table for ourselves and our kids, wrapping up under warm covers during the colder nights, ability to access to medical assistance 24/7.
Since WWII, we have not seen a refugee crisis like the one we have today. From Syria alone, over 4.8 million people have been displaced. Many of the children are orphaned, living in dismal conditions with almost no food, medical aid and shelter.
Did you know that for $50 a month, you can sponsor one child that has seen more violence and been through more hardships than most of us will in our entire lifetime? That’s less than $2/day that will provide the much needed relief these innocent kids need and deserve. It is $2/day that will help restore their faith in humanity.
Let’s do something selfless today. Let’s not just sit there and feel bad for what’s going on in the world but actually be part of the few that take action to help change it. It doesn’t matter which political party you represent or which religion you follow; “we all bleed the same”. I truly hope you will partner with me today and donate as much as you are able to—no donation is too small, no donation is too big. Please provide what you can to help brighten the future of the less fortunate children in a war torn country.
