Jordan Dickstein wrote -In our Organizational Studies class this semester, we had the privilege of visiting the Capuchin Soup Kitchen (CSK) in Detroit. CSK serves over 2000 meals per day, but the change they have brought about in the Detroit community is priceless. Although CSK strives to tend to people’s basic needs, especially the need for food, they also strive to stimulate minds and nourish spirits. Not only does CSK provide food for the Detroit community, they also offer: substance abuse services, a children’s program, and an in-house bakery and urban farm where struggling Detroit residents can learn important work and life-long skills. To find out more information on the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, please visit their website at http://www.cskdetroit.org.
CSK has been kept alive exclusively through donations and we need YOUR help! We have been challenged in our class to a fundraising competition and have one week to raise as much money as possible. There are only so many people we can reach out to, so every dollar and donation counts!
Our group's goal is to raise $4000 within the next week (March 26- April 1). All donations are tax deductible and the tax ID number for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen is 38-1525161.
