THE STORY:

HISTORY OF OLD ST. PATRICK’S CHURCH
Old St. Patrick’s Church is a unique urban expression of the Catholic faith whose mission is to serve the life and work of the laity in the world. Old St. Pat’s has been rooted in Chicago’s West Loop for more than 160 years and celebrates a deep commitment to hospitality, welcome, community service and social justice not only in our great city of Chicago, but also throughout the world. While current membership is over 3,500 households, more than 10,000 associates and friends also identify with Old St. Pat’s throughout the year, and choose to be communicated with regularly. Known as a place of beauty and an example of artistic architectural finery, Old St. Patrick’s Church is a historic Chicago landmark noted as the oldest public building in the city since it is one of the few buildings to survive the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.

CROSSROADS RUNNERS VISION
Old St. Patrick’s Church partners with more than 20 local organizations and provides programming that addresses issues of social concern here in Chicago, including poverty, homelessness, literacy, job placement and therapeutic services. The following programs are housed in our 703 Social Concerns Building, located on the Old St. Pat’s Campus.
