BENEFITING: Bring Change 2 Mind
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
EVENT: Your Journey Your Cause 2017
I am competing in Ironman 70.3 Florida and Ironman 70.3 Miami this year in Honor and Memory of loved ones and others in society whom have taken their own lives after years of suffering from mental illness.
One in four families are affected by mental illness. For people living with mental illness, the fear of stigma can have a devastating effect on their ability to live normal, healthy lives. Many feel isolated because they choose to hide their suffering and forgo speaking up or seeking help because they are terrified of this stigma.
That is why I will be competing in Ironman 70.3 (Florida & Miami) -- swimming 1.2 miles, biking 56 miles, and running 13.1 miles, for a total of 70.3 miles-- for the charity Bring Change 2 Mind to stand up against the stigma of mental illness and fight for those who are suffering in silence.
“CHANGE A MIND AND SAVE A LIFE”
The work of Bring Change 2 Mind is about saving lives, reducing suffering, and ensuring that people living with a mental illness are able to pursue their human potential with dignity, full civil rights, appropriate healthcare, and unbridled access to life’s opportunities. Bring Change 2 Mind has created a social movement around change by providing people with platforms to share, connect, and learn.
Please join me in standing up against stigma & discrimination by donating. Together we can change the way society views people with mental illness.
Thank you for bringing change 2 mind,
