VCU OT Goes to Ghana!
Organized by: Nava H
EVENT DATE May 30, 2014
This summer I've been presented with an amazing opportunity to travel with a group of my fellow Virginia Commonwealth University Masters of Occupational Therapy students and professors to Ghana. We will be engaging in cultural experiences while returning to schools and orphanages that have been visited by many VCU teams in the past to continue work with a variety of Ghanaian children, young adults, and educators.
The focus of the trip will be using skills we've learned in our studies to provide education and services to people with disabilities. A special focus will be placed on children with disabilities and children who are disadvantaged by their family situation (e.g. orphans, street children).

Donations will go to support my personal travel & boarding costs. Funds raised above my goal will go towards purchasing goods & supplies to support the communities we are visiting.
- Individuals who donate over $20 will be asked to provide an address so that I can send you a postcard from Ghana
- Individuals who donate over $40 will be sent a postcard and I'll bring you back a small token of my gratitude from Ghana.
Thank you so much for your support! Even if you are not in a position to be able to donate, please pass this on. This is an amazing profession and personal development opportunity for me and I'm very excited!
