Our father is unexpectedly brain dead & need to pull plug!
Organized by: Casey Webb
Our father went in for a simple one day surgery & is now brain dead. They went in to put a stent in his liver yesterday (June 2nd) & he never woke up from i . He was perfectly fine before. He's had it done in the past & everything was fine. This hospital has made a huge mistake. They said his brain was perfectly fine & no sign of a stroke whatsoeve . This morning they sent him to a different hospital, & that's when they told us he's gone, completely brain dead. We either have to make the choice to pull the plug & basically watch him suffocate, or we can put his body in a nursing home. He has a hose down his throat and he keeps gagging on i . Yesterday he could move his head, but couldn't blink. It was like he was trapped in his body & was trying so hard to get up, but no movemen . This surgery was suppose to make his life easier, but instead it has ended his life. My mother doesn't want to even live anymor . She has no idea what to d . We've been trying to get everything together for her, so she won't have to stress anymore about a funera . This is worse than a nightmare. Nobody ever even imagines this happening to anyone they kno . A tragic car wreck would've been easier than this. All the doctors couldn't figure it out yesterday, other nurses got curious & came in to look for themselves. They ruled out everything all the way from tick bites. He's on life support, but they're still drawing blood & doing tests....which means their still trying to figure out what is wrong. This is the worse situation possible that a human being could possibly go through...its worse than death. Life feels so useless now. We can't fix this, but we're trying to make it easier for mom. She's devastated, & they won't even allow her to stay the night at the hospital with him. They both were so excited to be going camping soon, that's all they talked about. It wasn't his time, his heart was fine! We're so confused, & so are the doctors, but they've ruled out everything & are giving up. He's more than just another body, he's our da . We're not ones to ask for help and we've never done this before. We need help mentally and physicall .
