EVENT DATE: Jun 20, 2016
We are a small group of girls from San Francisco. Our goal is to empower girls through sport. Our sport is soccer. We want to share our passion with young Nicaraguan girls encouraging them to build skills and learn from one another. Please help us promote women’s soccer by sharing our passion and empowering women through sport!
We hope to raise money to not just travel but to create transformation. Transformation in the girls lives we touch while visiting Nicaragua and transformation in our lives.
I think this experience has really opened my eyes to the way people live in other places. It made me more grateful for my privileged life and made me want to give back more to communities here and abroad
Anna, 12 year old girl
Money raised will directly help fund those girls who need financial assistance to enable them to join this service trip.

In the mornings, we will spend our time sharing our love of soccer. In the afternoons, we will get to work on other projects related to reforestation, sustainable farming and art education activities.
Nicaragua is the poorest country in Central America. 75 percent of the poor live on less than $2 US per day! Nicaragua’s history, cultural values, and resources provide a path for improvement.
Our Soccer Team Club, Girls Leading Girls, will team up with Viviendas Leon to travel to Nicaragua this June. Viviendas Leon builds bridges internationally that create a safer, and more equitable world. Through their decade-long commitment to Sutiaba, they have gained the trust needed to bring development to the region.
We will also bring used balls and shoes with us to give out and share. We are hoping to also raise money to provide t-shirts to the girls during our week soccer camp.
