Our Brother's Recovery Fund

Dear friends and family,

Recently, our older brother, Jason, has gone through some serious medical treatments and still has even more daunting procedures to face in the future. Not too long ago doctors informed him that he will need a heart transplant because his own heart simply cannot continue to function for him. The average wait time on a Heart Transplant list is about 2 years; however sometimes a patient may end up waiting for 5 or 6 years until a donor heart is ready. At this moment, he is not even on the list as there are numerous health qualifications and requirements that need to be met in order to make it on the Heart Transplant list. As scary as a heart transplant sounds his news got even worse when, a few weeks ago, the doctors decided that his own heart would not hold out long enough to receive a donor transplant.

Therefore, just a few days ago, he went through a 5 hour open heart surgery in order to have an LVAD implanted in his chest and around his heart. Essentially, it will take over the functions of his heart until a donor heart is ready for him. Doctors report that the surgery went well; he remains in ICU while he recovers. Our parents are by his side giving us a play-by-play. Jason is coming around as the drugs from the surgery continue to slowly wear off, though it will take some time before he can move about as normal.

We truly love our older brother and if we had the means to alleviate all of his burdens for him we absolutely would! However, it is impossible for us to take away his physical ailments and as much as it pains us, unfortunately none of us have the financial capabilities to completely ease the financial weight. Therefore, we are now humbly asking for your financial support.

As a person that served in our country's US Navy for 8 years of active duty, and 4 years in the reserves, he has been an amazing role model to us and a wonderful father to his three kids. With the skills that he gained serving in the Navy he began a career in Everett Washington as an Aviation Technician outfitting jets with all of the required internal functions to operate. Sadly, he has had to gradually scale back at work until now when he is finally at the point of not being able to work at all.

With the responsibilities of caring for his three children after an excruciatingly painful divorce, plus the mounting weight of his medical bills, he has not been able fulfill all of his mortgage and utility payments. As siblings we are appealing to all of you, as family and friends, to help us help our brother alleviate his financial burdens as he faces these uphill physical battles. We have all the faith in the world that he will pull through this. He is a fighter and so many times has already demonstrated this to us. First in his bout with cancer, specifically Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, in 2002, then too in 2010 when he had a defibrillator implanted to protect his heart from failing, and now again as he recovers from his LVAD surgery and awaits his heart transplant.

He means the world to us and it would mean the world to him to have all of the support possible. Your amazing voices of support through prayers and well-wishes have given us strength as you can't imagine, and we thank you for that. Thank you for letting us share our hearts with you here, and be assured that we gratefully appreciate any financial support you can offer as we make our way towards our goal.

Thank you from All of the Anglin Kids!
