Our Hope For Mary
Organized by: Brian Whiteman
I am raising money for my Mother who has to undergo a total knee replacement. When I was in 3rd grade I remember my Mom sat on my bed and told me she had liver cancer. I dreaded that moment because that is when I came to the realization that even the ones we cherish the most can undergo something so scary and possibly life threatening. Amazingly she beat liver cancer and has been in remission every since. As she has gotten older her knees have as well. I see my Mom in pain every single day of her life, now there are no other options but to replace both of her knees. After my Fathers passing on Christmas of 2011, money has been extremely tight and sadly she can't afford to do this procedure but she will have to. If I had a house I would put a 2nd mortgage on it in a heartbeat but I don't. When I was 18 I stayed home to help her take care of my Father because she needed me and so did he. He suffered from an injury that caused him to have Dementia like episodes for 10 years along with extreme pain every day. My mom was strong and she always stood by his side, he suffered extreme pain every single day of those 10 years. There were many times my Father told her to remarry, to find someone who isn't suffering like he was but she stood by him. She never gave up because he was her soul mate and as long as they were on this earth, they would be together. My Mom doesn't have a life threatening illness but every single day she suffers. She works with children because she loves to teach them and see them grow and develop with there words and actions. Even with the pain she bites the bullet and she moves forward because that is what she is most passionate about. My Mom is the most important person in my life and I don't want to see her suffer, I don't want to see her stress level increase to a point where it could be dangerous. If you can contribute anything I know she would greatly appreciate it. I am doing this for her without her knowledge because she would say no she doesn't want to bother people. My Mom has always been the person to give to anyone who needed it and I'm hoping maybe I can be able to give this to her. With a rough economy I know money is tight but any contributions you can make would be so greatly appreciated. I can't offer you anything but our love and gratitude for helping us get her the surgery she needs so she can continue to teach kids, and enjoy life without pain and suffering. Thank you and God Bless you.
