To My Friends, and Family,
This is a charity I became involved with 3 years ago through my tennis playing at Braemar Country Club. We started this Tennis for Camp Erin event then to raise money to send children to a weekend camp who have recently lost a parent or sibling. Our event includes a daytime tennis tournament (fun play) and an evening party with dinner, cocktails, auctions, and dancing to a DJ. It is a very enjoyable way to raise money to send children in the mist of terrible grief to this weekend camp. Because of our event, we were able to provide TWO weekends of camp for these kids this year (in the past it was only one weekend) thus doubleing the amount of children we help.
These are ususally children in need of grief counceling whose families cannot afford private therapy. Camp Erin offers them an oppoutunity to be in a supportive environment, run by professional therapists and trained counselors and have a memorable weekend filled with fun and therapeudic activities to help them deal with their recent grief.
One of the most important parts in this camp experience is that these children are with 75++ other children who are experiencing the same thing as them. They are not outsiders, they are with others who understand, who can help, and who they can share their feelings with. They laugh and play together, and they share their stories and cry together too.
Many children upon leaving camp have said that this was the best experience of their lives. Some children camp and spoke at the tennis event last year, and there wasnt a dry eye in the house...these kids really need this support and are so thankful that Our House provides this kind of support for them in a fun camp environment.
Tennis for Camp Erin will be again held at Braemar on July 20th, and I can send you more information if you would like to attend. However, this is a way for you to help these children be able to attend a weekend grief camp...even if you do not come to this event. All money raised will go directly toward sending these kids to Camp Erin, and covers all costs for them.
(You can read more below about how Our House started these grief camps in conjunction with the Moyer foundation.)
Thank you for doing what you are able to do and help these children who are going through a very difficult and trying time in their lives. I appreciate any help you can give!

On July 20th, Richard Jennings along with OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center will be hosting Tennis for Camp Erin - LA at the Braemar Country Club. This exciting all day tennis tournament will be followed by a fun dinner party, raffle and auction, and most importantly all the proceeds will go to an incredible cause.
Camp Erin is a free bereavement camp developed by the Moyer Foundation for children and teens who have experienced the death of someone close. It incorporates fun traditional camp activities with grief processing, and allows children to share their experiences with others who can understand and relate.
All money raised at this event will go directly toward sending children to camp and covering the cost of the weekend long experience. For more information, please visit: www.OurHouse-Grief.org/services/services_camperin
Thank you for your support!
