BENEFITING: A SAFE HAVEN FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Nov 17, 2014
$40 was placed on a desk during our MBA management class at DePaul University. Our assignment for the day was to collectively determine one person to give the $40 to and explain why this person deserved the money.
The class quickly came to the decision that we wanted to donate the money to a charity rather than give it to one person for his/her own personal use. The real challenge was determining which charity to donate the money to - national, local, broad reaching or narrow focused - our class had many options.
Eventually, we came to the conclusion that a local homeless shelter, A Safe Haven Foundation, was the organization we wanted to support because we know that homelessness is a continual challenge for Americans and we want to help support an organization that dedicates time and resources to help those struggling to overcome the challenges homelessness brings. Also Chicagoans, we want to do what we can to help those without shelter escape the cold of this upcoming winter.
We decided to start a crowdrise page in hopes of growing the orginal $40 into $1,000. Please join us in supporting this wonderful organization - any little bit helps.
Thank you for your support!
