Hello friends, family and people I just met! I am so excited to be participating in the annual Chris Atwood Foundaton fundraiser!! Our team of 12 will be running 200 in the Ragnar Relay to spread the message of hope and strength for those fighting drug addiction!! Chris Atwood tragically died 2 years ago of a drug overdose. It rocked his friends and family and we have been fighting the fight in his name ever since.
We will all be raising money for The Chris Atwood Foundation's Naloxone Education and Access program this year. If you are not familiar with it, naloxone is a safe and effective medication that can completely reverse a would-be fatal opioid overdose in as little as three minutes. It's been called miraculous and for those who have seen it in action they will tell you that it really is. Until July of this year it was only legal for trained medical personnel, but now it's available to anyone. It does take some training in how to use it, however, and it can be cost prohibitive for many families. Our naloxone program will address these needs by providing training classes and financial aid to purchase the medication.
