BENEFITING: OUR SCHOOL AT BLAIR GROCERY INC
We're growing a dining room for Our School at Blair Grocery at the corner of Roman and Benton in the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans, LA. We will be Outstanding in the HOOD. We need $6,000 for a tractor. We've gotten over $5000 in dahlia tubers donated via the American Dahlia Society. Seeds of Change is donating all the additional seeds. Wholefoods and WalMart regularly donate the feedstock for our Growing Power inspired and built windrows. An army of students from NY2NO and the interns at Blair are there to supply the labor. We need you to help us hand over the keys to a John Deer with a disc and bucket loader.
This fall New Orleans own Chef John Besh will be serving up 200 souls some of the best snout-to-tail cuisine as the garden grows into a living dining room. Landscape Architect and ASLA Fellow Mia Lehrer has donated the plans for the project. We need the horsepower to make it real. All donors get the dahlia hook up, too. The 9th ain't looking much better than it did five years ago. LA! NYC! CHI AND ATL! Let's step up and help some friends OUT.
