Overcoming His Autism
Organized by: Brieanna Anderson
As a child, Myles was diagnosed Autistic with a low IQ. In high school he was re-diagnosed with Asperger's and a low IQ. His entire life he was told that he would fail at school, never have a job, never learn to drive, not be able to support himself, never have a successful romantic relationship and never amount to much of anything. He chose not to believe these messages, overcame all of his "disabilities" and did everything he was told he couldn't. He has been working since he was 14 years old, he got his license when he was 18, he graduated high school with the rest of his senior class earning a standard diploma, and he moved into his own apartment and supported himself for years. In Sept 2011 I was blessed to meet and fall in love with this amazing young man. Two years later I walked down the isle and became Mrs. Myles Anderson. I am so proud of all he has done, all he has overcome and all he still plans to do. He is currently attending Rogue Community College in Medford, OR, studying computers with dreams of becoming a Web Designer. He has some financial aid and is working part time while in school, but it's just not enough to cover the cost of tuition, supplies, room and board. I work full time and offer every ounce of emotional, mental and financial support I can, but we still struggle to make ends meet and we have had to take out student loans. Your financial support will go towards the cost of tuition, supplies, room and board for Myles while he is working on his degree. If we are blessed with enough funds to do so, we will also pay off the student loans he has already taken out to fund his first 5 terms at RCC.
