The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) headgear ban is keeping talented athletes - like India's Amritpal Singh and Amjyot Singh, the Qatar women's basketball team, and USA's Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir and Indira Kaljo off the courts - but we're building evidence to overturn the ban.
Specifically, FIBA Article 4.4.2, states "Players shall not wear equipment (objects) that may cause injury to other players."
We're consulting with a key strategic advisor from AFDP's campaign to allow head coverings in football. In 2012, their efforts yielded clarification by FIFA that the sport headscarf (hijab) was safe and permissible. We're confident that we can prove to FIBA that the turban, hijab and yarmulke are not injury risks and FIBA will allow head coverings, too.

Let's get the players off the bench as soon as possible!
