BENEFITING: OPPORTUNITY VILLAGE FOUNDATION
Dear friends and family,
As the final days of 2014 come to a close, I began to ponder what my 2015 New Year’s resolution would be. From the vain to the insane, resolutions can often be just a whimsical blip of hope. However, I wanted this year to be different. I wanted a resolution that would not only better myself, but better the community as well.
With this in mind, my resolution is to lose at least 30 pounds in the next three months. To offer me motivation to accomplish this feat, I have started a fundraiser campaign that will donate money for each pound I lose to my favorite charity, Opportunity Village.
The goal is to raise at least $60,000 for this wonderful organization, which is celebrating 60 years of providing nearly 3,000 citizens with disabilities meaningful work and life experiences. In fact, the idea for this challenge was sparked by the success of their 10th annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run, which saw thousands of people, including hundreds of Caesars Entertainment employees, flood the streets of Downtown Las Vegas in Santa suits for this incredible cause.
All those reasons and more are why I decided to create this challenge. A colleague of mine has already pledged to donate $1,000 for every pound I shed, up to $30,000!
If you can spare this holiday season, I would greatly appreciate any support, big or small, you could give to Opportunity Village during my quest to lose 30 pounds by donating here.
