One year ago today, I began an experiment, where I changed my eating habits. I started having organic yogurt with honey, fruit, nuts and flaxseed for breakfast everyday. I ate salad with protien for at least one meal every day. I eliminated most packaged foods and thought up ways to add omega 3s and mono-unsaturated fats to my diet. I started getting ouside more to make some of my own Vitamin D. I skipped the flu shots (even though I was told my very life depended on it) and took no pharms for the entire year.
An amazing thing happened. For the first time in my life I'm running 15 miles per week - something I've tried to do over and over but never could do because of knee pain. And I haven't been sick once this year. Even when exposed to the nastiest bugs, I didn't get sick.
We have got to stop listening to pharmaceutical ads, mass media and corporate food packagers when making our own health and nutrition plans.
