Dusty Zabokrtsky wrote -I always like to race (running or triathlons) with a purpose; normally dedicating my race to a specific person, cause or fundraising. When thinking about some upcoming races this summer and what I would race for, the choice was simple......I was going to race for P 4:13 and in memory of Marcus Haney. I met Marcus's father, Chris, the leader from my church study group. Chris shared with the group how he recently lost his son Marcus in a tragic car accident this past December. It was so painful to hear this story, a young life taken way too soon. My heart ached for Chris and his wife Diana. I immediately thought of my own child, and how I could not even imagine what they were going through. What is amazing is to hear his words, listening to him speak about his faith and how they coping with the loss of their son. From this Chris and Diana have decided to begin a ministry in Marcus's memory, called P 4:13. This is a reference to Philippians 4, verse 13, "I can do all this through Him who gives me strength." The mission of P 4:13 ministry is one of honor and one I can get behind: "To Honor God and Marcus Haney by providing opportunities for young people to attend camps, mission trips, conferences, college and other faith building activities." I am not only racing for Marcus, but for other youth that P 4:13 will serve in the future. I ask that you keep Marcus's memory in your thoughts, pray for the mission of P 4:13, and humbly ask that you consider donating. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
