BENEFITING: American Red Cross
I stepped outside of my home in north Spokane to a dark haze of smoke throughout the air. Wildfire. The sun was dim as it remained high in the sky covered by wind driven smoke coming from the many wildfires that are burning in the Pacific Northwest. My nostrils burned and eyes began to water. I could not help but think, "We need to do something now to help those affected during this disaster." As many of you have seen on the news, these numerous fires have grown to severely dangerous sizes. In the most recent news, three firefighters have been killed while giving their all to defend what homes have not yet been consumed by fire. We morn their loss and thank them without reservation for their service. They will never be forgotten. The smell of smoke and small pieces of ash have taken over our beautiful countryside. A state of emergency has been ordered and evacuations have all ready been long underway. I want to help and I know many others do as well. The National Guard and active duty military have been activated as well as firefighters from around the world to help fight. Friends and neighbors with no training are also being asked to join in the fight. Together as a Nation, we need to come together to help those in need. Many of us cannot be directly involved in the firefight, but we can all support those who are currently risking their lives. I can no longer stand idle so please, support me as I seek to bring much needed supplies to the men and women working tirelessly to fight these wildfires. Alone, I am weak, but together, we are strong. I am seeking donations in order to support the fire suppression efforts along with supporting those who have lost their homes and property. Thank you and God bless.
