Be Healthy. Have Fun. Make a Difference.
The transition to civilian life can be difficult to many. By participating in Run Ranger Run, PacStar would like to show our service members that we are behind them during this transition period. Funds raised through Run Ranger Run go to GallantFew, an organization dedicated to driving awareness of issues facing veterans today. Programs like the Darby Project, Ranger Patrol Base and Descendants of Sparta receive GallantFew funding; and each of its own programs are tailored to address issues surrounding service member transition.
At this time, veterans continue to battle record high levels of unemployment, under-employment, homelessness and suicide. In May, the Department of Labor Statistics reported that 40% of Global War on Terror veterans are more likely to be unemployed than those who never served. The VA currently reports that 18 veterans take their lives daily, and active duty suicides averaged one per day in 2012 – these are unheard of rates.
By participating or donating to the PacStar Run Ranger Run team, this is an opportunity for you to make an impact.
Our miles can, and will make a difference!
