UPDATE: Unfortunately, Darren and I have to postpone the canoe trip. I bruised my ribs playing a soccer a couple of weeks ago and my Doctor has advised me to rest for 6-8 weeks to allow them to fully recover. Thank you so much to everyone for your donations and we'll update you as soon as we have a new launch time. And if you haven't donated already, please do so. It will keep us motivated while we train through the darker days of winter! - Leo
Darren and I are going to paddle a canoe 110 miles from DC to the mighty Chesapeake Bay. We are raising funds for Martha's Table - an excellent DC-based charity that provides healthy meals and clothing to individuals, families and children in need as well as a variety of early childhood and parent education programs.
In the wee hours of Wednesday November 11th, Darren and I will push off from Key Bridge boathouse in Georgetown and with favorable winds, arrive at Point Lookout at dusk on Saturday November 14th. We're camping the along the way and carrying all our meals.
We'd certainly appreciate any and all donations - large or small - to Martha's Table, so please join us!
