I'm running in this year's Detroit Free Press Marathon on October 17 to raise money for the Detroit Police Athletic League! As a former scholar athlete, I know first hand how important athletics are to our youth, especially in distressed communities. Participating in sports not only keeps kids healthy and active, it also teaches time management and improves grades. We all know healthy kids means healthier future community leaders! Please be inspired to keep our kids in the gym, on the field and off the streets!
