BENEFITING: PET PREVENT A LITTER PALS OF CENTRAL TEXAS
ORGANIZER: PET PREVENT A LITTER PALS OF CENTRAL TEXAS
EVENT: Saving Pets Challenge 2015
PALS is an amazing local charity that really cares about its community. We used the money raised so far on Crowdrise to donate 315 pounds of pet food and 5 huge bags of cat litter to those affected by the flooding in Hays County.
My dog Reinette means the world to me. I think that pets are such an important part of the family, but many people who love their pets are just not financially able to give them the care they need. That's where PALS steps in. PALS helps people and the pets they love by offering free spay/neuter to low income families, adopting out rescued cats to the community, providing pet food for those going through a difficult time, and more!
Probably the coolest thing about PALS is the level of dedication. These people work HARD. It's completely run by volunteers! We hold a monthly spay and neuter clinic in our own facility where our volunteers pick up cats from homes or have them dropped off, and sedate, weigh, and spay or neuter them, then carefully watch them as they wake up. We also have a new board member who has been running our Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) program for years. She goes out to communities with feral cats and traps them, drives them to Austin to be spayed or neutered, and drives them back. Who else would put in that much work to help reduce pet homelessness and euthanasia caused by overpopulation?
So whether you love pets, or just wish there were fewer strays in your area, we're the ones to go to for help in San Marcos & surrounding areas. We LOVE helping our community, and we'd love it if you could help back! We promise 100% of your donation goes right to our programs. For $50 we can spay a cat. For $90 we can spay a dog. For $20 we can buy a decent bag of dog or cat food. Please give what you can! Every dollar helps poor pets.
From all the volunteers at PALS and the pets you will help--THANKS!
