THE STORY:

As many of you know, I was diagnosed with triple negative invasive ductual carcinoma in January 2016. My diagnosis actually came as a result of an error made by a plastic surgeon who DID NOT review my pre-op labs prior to me undergoing a routine breast reduction to assist with a medically necessary condition. Following my reduction surgery I received a letter from the location where my pre-surgery mammogram was done. To my gut-renching surprise my tests were abnormal! What?!! After speaking with my surgeon, I was told not to worry, they saw no need for concern, those tests are usually wrong. ....blah, blah. I was told to wait to do the mammograms since I was healing from extensive breast surgery, and that all tissue had been sent to a pathologist and was clean. I was able to follow up on Christmas Eve, yes, Merry Christmas to me, with a new mammogram and scheduled for a biopsy. On Jan 4 I received a call from the plastic surgeon letting me know I have breast cancer and he was sorry, and didn't know how this happened! Not only did he not review my pre-op records, but he had transplanted the tumor back in during my surgery. Well, to say the least, the last months have been almost more that I ever thought I could handle. I had to take a leave of absence so that I may get the life saving chemo treatments that I need. And when those conclude I will begin 7 weeks of radiation, Mon thru Fri for 7 weeks. The reason for this go fund me is that it has now become necessary for my husband to return the truck his company has graciously been allowing him to drive so that I can have a car available to get to my treatments, the cars are to be sold off by the company. My "paid" time off has come to an end, and we are now faced with heavy choices.....ability to get to work, pay for house, keep our medical insurance going to cover my treatments. I was really hoping and praying that all would work out, things would fall in to place, but it doesn't appear to be so. I'm asking that you continue to pray for my family during this difficult time, let them feel your love and support, and that those of you feel it in your hearts will give what you are able to lighten the load. Life is a constant lesson, I take from all of this that I have the best family in the world and To always be humble and kind. You never know what that person standing next to you is going through. ❤️
