Supporting Panamanian students' band, post burglary
Organized by: Monica Mahal
For the past 6 weeks, I've had the opportunity to teach English in Panama, & it has been one of the best experiences of my life. The students just radiate positive energy, and seeing their smiling faces as they eagerly enter class everyday has been inspirational to say the least. My host mother, the principal of the school, has been working tirelessly this summer, fundraising especially to support the arts. We were devastated & utterly shocked last week to find that our school had been robbed. Even worse, that hard earned money was to be used for the band. As a proud fellow band student, this really tugged at my heart.
That's why I'm kindly asking you to please consider donating to the school band of Carlos M. Ballesteros Junior High School. These students put their heart and soul into music, and I've seen what a profound effect it has on their lives. They practice every day after school and show up to early Saturday morning practices, always sporting their contagious smiles. Any amount possible will help restore what was stolen from this community. Thank you so much for your help, it means the world to us!
