BENEFITING: PANCREATIC CANCER ACTION NETWORK INC
Allie's dad, Tom, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August. His diagnosis came just six years after Allie's grandmother (Tom's stepmother), Peggy, passed away from pancreatic cancer. Tom has been incredibly strong these past few months, traveling back and forth from Miami to Houston for treatment at MD Anderson. He's undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy, six weeks of daily radiation, and a surgery.
For those of you not familiar with the disease, pancreatic cancer is a tough cancer to fight. Its incredibly aggressive, symptoms often don't present until the disease has already spread, and surgery is the only potential curative treatment. As a result, survival rates have remained in the single digits for the past 40 years.
As our family remains focused on Tom's fight with pancreatic cancer, we are also committed to raising awareness and funds to find a cure for pancreatic cancer. To support our efforts, please consider making a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Through a combination of research, advocacy and patient support, the Network aims to help people with pancreatic cancer live longer and healthier lives and to double the five year survival rate by 2020.
