On February 14th, I'm running the Los Angeles Marthon in support of a very special Valentine- my mother. These 26.2 miles will mean more to me than any distance though. This year those miles will be dedicated to my mother who is fighting pancreatic cancer.
I'll be be honest with you though- my training this cycle has been less than stellar. Two upper respiratory infections and a fall on my back playing tennis has hurt my training and my fitness. I thought about bowing out. Although excuses came (they always do don't they?) I remembered this race is about so much more. It's about finding a cure for this awful cancer. It's about my Dad not losing his wife. It's about my brothers not losing their mother. It's for my children- so that Jakob and Evan have as much time possible knowing their Gramma. Somebody has to teach them all the Garth Brook's songs right? And selfishly, it's for having my mother by my side as long as possible. It's for others wishing for the same things and sadly for those whose wishes didn't come true.
Please consider supporting me in the fight against Pancreatic Cancer. Whether it's prayers or a donation- all is appreciated!
